Ted Leo and the Pharmacists paid a visit to Newport’s Southgate House this past weekend. "Pop-punk rock" is one of the dirtiest phrases you can utter among music elite. The phrase has been burdened with years of MTV video play and countless album releases by bands such as Newfound Glory and Yellowcard. This has transformed a genre of music that never really got off to a good start into a four-letter word.
