Christmas on the mall

To celebrate the Christmas season and bring the Xavier community together, the Office of Student Life and the Student Government Association have planned a Christmas extravaganza on Wednesday.

In the past years, a tree lighting was done and refreshments were served, but this year many more activities have been planned.

Int’l students volunteer at children’s hospital

Have you ever had the opportunity to meet and interact with people from another country?

For most of us, this experience has only presented itself now that we are here at college or in the working world.

Children at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital have been able to take advantage of this experience from an early age, thanks to seven international students from Xavier.

in Midway and Miami competitions

Xavier’s youngest club sport is already winning honors, though it was only formed a few months ago.

The Xavier University equestrian team, granted full club status earlier this fall, returned from their competition on Nov. 19-20 at Midway College, outside Lexington, Ky., with one second and three fourth place finishes.

Ye olde feast

The Conaton Board Room in Schmidt Hall on the Xavier University campus will be transformed into a Renaissance-banquet hall, replete with court nobles and musicians, heralding trumpets, elegant food and divine music on Saturday as the Xavier Music Department presents the fourth annual Madrigal Dinner.

A madrigal is a complex, polyphonic, unaccompanied vocal piece on a secular text that developed in the 16th and 17th centuries. The dinner tradition started in 2003 and featured a court jester and a Celtic band.
