An Evening with Dr. Ravi Perry
An expert on African-American politics and public policy, Dr. Perry's commentary, op-eds, editorials and award-winning oratory have been featured in varied media outlets across the country.
On Wednesday, January 19, in the Gallagher Student Center Theatre, Dr. Ravi Perry, assistant professor of political science at Clark University, will address the theme "The Movement of a King," from the perspective of a young scholar with an evolving and prolific take on issues facing African-Americans in the United States.
The event will begin with a prayer experience with the Dorothy Day Center for Faith and Justice, along with the Xavier University Gospel Choir. After the lecture, the Peer Leadership Team will facilitate a discussion on being a proactive leader for all civil liberties.
With specializations in Black politics, minority representation, and urban politics, Perry concentrates in areas such as the new generation of civil rights debates, public policy, and urban politics’ public service delivery to persons of color. His commentary, editorials, and oratory have been featured in media across the country. Perry holds a BA from the University of Michigan and a PhD from Brown University, both in political science.
