Department of Music staging spring music festival
Choices range from ballet to brass

The festival opens on Wednesday, April 30, at 7:00 p.m. with Diane Campbell’s dance classes, which are performing dance styles from hip hop to Seven Brides for Seven Brothers followed by the student brass ensemble.
The Xavier Orchestra, conducted by Kelly Kuo, is performing music by Bach and Barber on Thursday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m. The Xavier Symphonic Wind Ensemble, conducted by Ronald Montgomery, rounds out the evening with works by Ticheli, Holsinger and others.
Finally, the Women’s Chorus, under Linda Bursarow, is performing an international program of choral music on Friday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m., followed by the ballet students of Sasha Hart. The evening ends with the Edgecliff Vocal Ensemble under the direction of Tom Merrill, which is performing selected spirituals.
The charge for Xavier students is $2 per concert; $5 for all others.
