Education expert Pedro Noguera addressing issues of educational equity

11/19/07The School of Education is hosting a lecture by noted education scholar Pedro Noguera on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 4:30 p.m. in the Cintas Center. Noguera is addressing the state of educational equity in light of current social and public policy trends.
An urban sociologist, Noguera is a professor in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development at New York University, as well as the executive director of the Metropolitan Center for Urban Education and the co-director of the Institute for the Study of Globalization and Education in Metropolitan Settings. An expert on issues of race and schooling, student achievement, school reform, immigration/migration and urban schools, he has advised several large urban U.S. school districts, conducted research internationally and authored a number of influential publications.
