Buddhist monks from India creating mandala, a three-dimensional sand drawing, in library
Creation of mandala can be viewed on a webcam in April, with gift bags of the sand available at the closing

For five days in April, Buddhist monks from Drepung Gomang Monastic College in Mundgod, India are creating a sand mandala in the University Library.The monks are beginning the mandala, a three-dimensional form of sacred art involving millions of grains of sand, on Tuesday, April 10, at noon. The creation of the mandala can be followed on a special web cam set up for the event.
The mandala is available for viewing:
- April 10: noon to 8:00 p.m.
- April 11 and 12: 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
- April 13: 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
- April 14: Noon to 3:30 p.m.
