Xavier named one of the best values in private colleges by Kiplinger's Personal Finance

Rankings measure academic quality and affordability, with quality accounting for two-thirds of the total

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance has listed Xavier University No. 39 on its “50 Best Values” in private institutions across the country list. The feature ranks private colleges and universities “that exemplify outstanding economic values and an exceptional education.”

Xavier and the other institutions were chosen, according to the high-profile money magazine, because they reflect “a trend among highly selective schools to level the economic playing field.” The entire list is featured in the latest edition of Kiplinger’s.

The Kiplinger's rankings measure academic quality and affordability, with quality accounting for two-thirds of the total. The magazine also considered admission rate, SAT scores, student-faculty ratios, aid from grants and average debt at graduation among other things.

“Accessibility increases our diversity and that’s very important to us at Xavier,” says University President Michael Graham, S.J. “We’re pleased to add this distinction to our list of rankings.”

The Kiplinger's nod is just one of several received by the University in the past year.
