The office of multicultural affairs is hosting “A Day of Dialogue” on Thursday, Jan. 12, from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. in the Gallagher Student Center.

The program focuses on dialogue and the opportunity to discuss the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Members of the Xavier and Cincinnati communities are invited to take part in dialogue rooms. Participants are discussing the topics "African Americans in the Academy," "Class and Poverty," "Community Engagement" and "Gender and Equity." In past years, the day has focused on the life and work of King through speakers, theatrical performances and community service.

“We hope to have dialogues that will be starting points for understanding diversity and inclusion,” says Paul James, director for the office of multicultural affairs. “I firmly believe action must be the result of on-going conversations that are rooted in listening and sharing.”
