Academic Day 2005 to focus on students' first-year experience
This year marks largest, broadest participation of University members in planning day's events
10/07/05The theme for this year’s Academic Day is “Learning: The Xavier Experience” and marks the largest and broadest participation of University members in planning of the day’s events. Academic Day 2005, an all-day program promoting interdisciplinary discussion between Xavier faculty, staff, administrators and students, is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. at the Cintas Center.
Those attending Academic Day can take part in several presentations. Presentation topics include proposed changes to the Ethics, Religion and Society focus, enhancing students’ learning experiences and the information fluency institute. Xavier faculty members are facilitating the sessions.
Musical performances are scheduled throughout the day and a lunch is planned in the Cintas Center banquet room. There is also a reception in the A.B. Cohen Center, where the work of artist Romare Bearden, on loan from alumnus Russell L. Goings Jr., is on display.
