University accounting students offer free tax assistance to residents in Norwood and Evanston
For those who dread the idea of doing their taxes, the University is offering some relief. Each Thursday for the next six weeks accounting students from the University
are offering free basic federal and state income tax assistance to the Xavier, Norwood and Evanston communities through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Each year, the students prepare nearly 200 tax returns.
Those interested in receiving help should bring all tax-related forms as well as a copy of their 2001 tax return, if possible, to the VITA office at the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati, 3458 Reading Road in Avondale. Assistance is available from 5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on the following Thursdays:
