“A Blessing to One Another: Pope John Paul II and the Jewish People” is on its way to Washington, D.C. The landmark exhibition documenting the late pontiff’s lifelong relationship with members of the Jewish faith officially closed its Cincinnati run July 15, and final attendance figures exceeded the original projections by almost 20 percent. In all, 7,311 people representing a broad range of faiths and age groups—from third graders to centenarians—visited the exhibition during its two-month stay, including 71 tour groups drawn from Greater Cincinnati, Louisville, Indianapolis, Columbus and Chicago.

The exhibit’s second run begins Sept. 15 at Washington’s Pope John Paul II Cultural Center, and a special reception for D.C.-area alumni is planned there for Oct. 5.
