Classical piano series celebrates 250th concert
Brian Ganz performs in anniversary concert with an all-Chopin program of waltzes, etudes, preludes and sonatas
For this event, Brian Ganz performs on Sunday, Jan. 23, at 2:30 p.m. in the Gallagher Student Center theater.
A leading pianist of his generation, Ganz has accumulated an impressive array of awards, concert credits and appearances around the world. Since graduating from the Peabody Institute, he has won rave reviews as a soloist and chamber musician. Ganz teaches piano as musician-in residence at Saint Mary’s College, and serves as an adjunct faculty member Peabody. He has been heard on National Public Radio’s "Performance Today," and in recordings for Accord, Gailly and REM labels. In 1990, Ganz was a fellow at the Tanglewood Center.
This is Ganz’s second appearance with the Piano Series and he is playing an all-Chopin program including waltzes, etudes, preludes and Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58.
Tickets are $19 for keyboard side, $17 for right side; senior citizens (60 years and older) $16 and $14. Students are admitted free with a valid ID.
