University springs back into action after break
Discussions, entertainment, career programming and sports highlight the week's events on campus
04/08/04The week after spring break gets a boost from the East Asian Heritage Festival which starts at noon on Wednesday, April 14, and runs until 4:00 p.m. in the Gallagher Student Center atrium. The event features a Hibachi demonstration, a Tae Kwon Do demonstration by Xavier's martial arts club and an atmosphere of food, music and fun. For more information, call 513 745-3534.
The student activities council then takes campus across the border on Thursday, April 15, as it offers a free late night snack of Taco Bell at the Gallagher Student Center. The servings begin at 10:00 p.m.
Immediately following the feast, students and their friends can participate in the free late night movie series to watch "Kill Bill." The film begins at 11:00 p.m. in the Gallagher Student Center theater.
Faculty, staff and students are making "Great Decisions" this week about U.S. and Latin America relations on Tuesday, April 13, from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m., in the Romero international center in the Gallagher Student Center. The foreign policy discussion is co-sponsored by the office of international student services and peace and justice programs. The book is $5. Musketeers ready for battle as the baseball team and women's tennis team play away and at home this week. On Tuesday, the baseball team makes a short trip to Eastern Kentucky University for a 3:00 p.m. game. It returns home Wednesday for a game against crosstown rival the University of Cincinnati at 3:00 pm. The women's tennis team meets Bowling Green University on Tuesday at home at 2:30 p.m.
