Arthur Dewey, professor in the department of theology, is one of 27 scholars who contributed to "Peter Jennings Reporting: Jesus and Paul—The Word and the Witness." The documentary was a three-hour broadcast on the story of Jesus of Nazareth, Paul the Apostle and Christianity in its first decades. It originally aired on Monday, April 5, from 8:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. on the ABC Television Network.

Dewey serves as co-chair of the Bible in Ancient and Modern Media Group at the Society of Biblical Literature. He also co-founded the Healing Deadly Memories program, a unique project dealing with the question of anti-Semitism in the New Testament. He is also author of "Spirit and Letter in Paul.”

According to the ABC News web site, the scholarly report takes viewers to the beginning stages of Christianity and reveals the lives of two men of faith, will and vision. “Without them, the religion known today as Christianity would not exist. Both sacrificed everything for the belief that God had chosen them to change the world,” the site claims.
