The women’s basketball team is giving away two free airline tickets to anywhere in the continental United States courtesy of Delta Airlines and four free season tickets to next year’s home games to the 2,347th fan to walk through the doors at Friday’s game against St. Joseph’s University at 7:00 p.m. or Sunday’s game against Fordham University at 2:00 p.m.

In the 51 home games it’s played in three and a half years at the Cintas Center, the team has drawn 97,653 fans, leaving it just 2,347 away from the 100,000 mark. That number is expected to be eclipsed this weekend, and the team wants to reward that 100,000th fan.

Also this weekend, the University’s student-athletic advisory council is collecting clothing, canned food, cash and small household items during the women’s game against Fordham on Sunday, Jan. 18, and the men’s game against St. Joseph on Saturday, Jan. 17.

The fifth annual fill-a-truck event again will be a challenge with the University of Dayton. The school collecting the greatest weight in donations wins the Drive 75 trophy and charitable bragging rights for the year.

Cash donations are given to the Neediest Kids of All charity. Food and household items are donated to Matthew 25 Ministries, The Drop Inn Center and St. Jude Appalachian Missionary.

A semi truck will be parked in front of Cintas Center and student-athletes from various teams will be loading the truck.
