Volleyball scores big weekend

Team sweeps matches, now defends A-10 title on home court

The women's volleyball team ended its regular season by sweeping its weekend matches against Temple and La Salle and sliding into the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament, which begins this weekend at the Cintas Center. The Musketeers will face Temple in the first round of the tournament at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Xavier handed Temple its first conference loss of the season on Friday night. Also this weekend, the rifle team shot down Army as part of the Walsh Memorial Rifle Championship. Xavier holds a slight lead over Murray State with four days left in the event. The cross country teams competed in the regional championship, and the swim teams competed in a double dual meet at Ball State University.
