Area high school students visit campus
Readiness workshop gives students tips on applying to college
Local high school students and their parents are coming to campus Thursday, Nov. 21, for a college-readiness workshop. The workshop is targeting high school juniors and seniors in Cincinnati Public Schools and in schools from surrounding communities with large minority student populations, including Purcell Marian, Princeton, Mount Healthy, Roger Bacon and Winton Woods. The workshop starts at 7:00 p.m. in the Cintas Center.
"The purpose of this workshop is to give high school juniors and seniors information on the college search, application and selection processes," says Lori Wright, assistant director of admission and coordinator for Community Outreach & Early Awareness Programs at Xavier.
Speakers are providing information sessions with tips on choosing a college, application strategies, making the most of campus visits, transitioning from high school to college and financing a college education.
