04/24/03
High School seniors who have been accepted for admission to the University are coming to campus on Saturday, April 26, for the second of this years
Spring Preview days. The day gives accepted high school students and their parents a firsthand opportunity to explore the campus, interact with professors, students and the admission staff, and to learn about various aspects of college life that are of interest to them.
Both breakfast and lunch are being served on campus. During the rest of the day, the students and their parents split up, as a specific agenda for students and a separate
agenda for parents has been created. Students get to sit in on a class, meet with current students and learn about meal plans, registering for classes and what its like living on campus. Parents learn about areas such as academic advising, financial aid, meal plans and how to stay involved with their students while they are away from home for the first time.
Students and parents can get a brief idea of what the day might be like by checking out the
photo tour of previous Spring Preview days.
Accepted students can further learn about college life at Xavier on Monday, April 28, when the office of admission opens its chat room from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Current students and members of the admission staff will be online to answer any questions or just chat about college life.
