Youth and young adult coordinator to speak
Member of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development visits campus
Alicia Bondanella, youth and young adult coordinator for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), is coming to campus today, Sept. 26, to speak with faculty and students about the organization and Catholic social teaching. Bondanella is stopping by the Dorothy Day House first for an informal gathering over coffee and doughnuts at 8:45 a.m. before going to Sister Louise Akers theology class at 10:00 a.m.
CCHD is the U.S. Bishops domestic anti-poverty campaign that helps to lift people out of poverty. This is achieved by funding organizations that empower others to make changes. Funded organizations deal with issues including youth, homelessness, the environment and the elderly.
Bondanella is in town visiting the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Her other stops include the College of Mount St. Joseph, the University of Dayton, Catholic Central High School in Toledo, Ohio, and a public meeting for AMOS, a group in Cincinnati that organizes diverse populations to address social justice issues.
