Xavier University's Dr. Richard Schnipke, Assistant Professor of Music Education, will be performing The Rachmaninoff Vespers with Cincinnati's Vocal Arts Ensemble this weekend. This is the first performance with the group's new artistic director, 5-time Grammy Nominated conductor Craig Hella Johnson. Consisting of the texts of the Russian Orthodox All-night vigil ceremony, this transcendentally beautiful work for a cappella choir has been praised as Rachmaninoff’s finest achievement.
