The student governments of both Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati have shared leadership roles in making Sunday, April 29 a Day or Service to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati.
The service project will enable families to learn the importance of working together to make a lasting impact on our community. The planning and execution of this event is being facilitated by Alan Hagerty, UC Student Body President and Ryan Alleman, Xavier University Student Body President, with support from both schools student government groups, and BGCGC kids and staff. BE GREAT Cincinnati’s Day of Service will be a fun-filled day involving volunteer activities that are inspirational and which make a lasting impact within our community.
The Day of Service will begin at 11am at Xavier University (on the Xavier yard near Fenwick Residence Hall) where lunch will be served and Xavier Provost and Chief Academic Officer Scott Chadwick will speak. At 1:00 pm, volunteers will move to five service sites throughout Greater Cincinnati, including park clean-up, gardening and painting projects. At 3:00 pm the volunteers will move to the University of Cincinnati where dinner will be served and UC Provost Santa Ono will speak.
