Xavier University sponsors Na"im Akbar

Xavier University’s Black Student Association, Gentlemen Organized for Achievement and Leadership, Black Greek Council and Alpha Phi Alpha present Black is…An Evening with Dr. Na’im Akbar on Thursday February 17, 2011 at 7 pm in Kennedy Auditorium of the Conaton Learning Commons (room 412) on the Xavier campus (at the corner of Dana and Ledgewood Avenues).

Admission is free and all are welcome.

Akbar is a preeminent African-American psychologist and a pioneer in the development of an African-centered approach in modern psychology. A former president of the National Association of Black Psychologists, he teaches in the Department of Psychology at Florida State University in Tallahassee, and is the Director of his private consulting firm: Mind Productions and Associates. He has written five books and over twenty-five scholarly articles.
