Xavier University's Concert Choir will present its Winter Tour from January 3 - 9, 2010. The choir, conducted by associate professor of music Dr. Thomas Merrill, will present a concert of Advent and Christmas music, selections from Mozart's Requiem, music of Alice Parker, John Ireland, Sir C. H. H. Parry and others. The performance schedule includes stops in Pittsburg and Gettysburg, PA; Bronxville, NY; Salem, MA, Rochester, NY; and Cleveland OH. All concerts are free and open to the public.
The Xavier University Concert Choir is an auditioned ensemble of music majors and minors, and students from all three colleges of the university. The choir maintains a busy performance schedule, with annual fall and spring festivals, Advent Lessons and Carols, and winter tour. The Concert Choir has performed with the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, the Cincinnati Museum Center’s Organ series. and collaborate frequently with the Cincinnati Baroque Orchestra and have performed in concert for the Ohio Music Educators Association.
