The Student Governments of Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati will join forces on Saturday, October 18 to provide needy downtown residents with a meal. From 11 am until 2 pm, the students will prepare hamburgers, hot dogs and chips provided by Kroger. The event will be held in Washington Park, 1230 Elm Street across from Music Hall in the Over-The-Rhine neighborhood of downtown Cincinnati.
A goal for both student government organizations is to help serve those in need in Over-The-Rhine. Student government officials from the University of Cincinnati contacted executives at Xavier to partner in this event to make it most effective. “Students from UC and Xavier want to be a part of the Cincinnati community,” said James McShane, a Senator in Xavier’s Student Government Association. “College Cookout for a Cause accomplishes these goals for the student governments as well as brings us together in a collaborative partnership for the benefit of others.”
