Xavier Players Present Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead
CINCINNATI, Jan. 17, 2012 -- From February 23-26 at 7:30 p.m., Xavier Players will present Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead by Bert V. Royal. It is for an adult audience.
All tickets cost $5 in advance /$7 day of the show. They can be purchased online starting today, Tuesday, Jan. 17 at http://xavierplayers.ticketleap.com/and by phone starting Monday, Jan. 30 at (513) 745-3939.
CB begins to question the existence of an afterlife when his dog dies of rabies. His best friend is a burn-out; his sister has gone goth; his ex-girlfriend recently was institutionalized; and his other friends are too inebriated to give him any sort of solace. But a chance meeting with an artistic kid, the target of this group's bullying, offers CB peace of mind and sets in motion a friendship that will push teen angst to the very limits. Drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebellion and sexual identity collide and careen toward an ending that's both haunting and hopeful. Inventive, raunchy and funny with characters both genuinely sympathetic and unquestionably cruel.
As a tie-in with this show, and last semesters’ production of Voices for Change, Xavier Players is donating $100 of ticket proceeds to the Linus Foundation, whose mission is to provide lasting support for local children’s education and enrichment programs and organizations.
