Xavier Leadership Center and 700WLW offer a networking seminar for job seekers
Two professional employment consultants offer advice and experience tailored to the economy
The Xavier Leadership Center and 700 WLW Radio are presenting a free seminar, “Networking Essentials for Job Seekers,” focusing on how people in the job market should present themselves and network especially during a tight job market.
The event, which is free and open to the public, takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at the Cintas Center on Xavier’s campus. The seminar features two professionals in the networking field.
Sandra Vogel is discussing “Increasing Your Net Worth,” which highlights ways job seekers should network and brand themselves effectively. Vogel is an award-winning professional speaker, trainer and internationally-recognized facilitator with more than 20 years of experience in management, training and education. She is a certified contract trainer at the new General Electric Learning Center, as well as a certified trainer for Development Dimensions International, Achieve Global, Kepner Tregoe and GE’s Professional Leadership courses. As a member of the Xavier Leadership Center’s faculty, she trains professionals on topics including presentation skills, assertive communication, change management, influencing skills, networking, personal branding and dressing for success.
Andrea Dale is speaking on “Unlocking LinkedIn for your Job Search,” offering tips and ideas on how to use this online business networking engine to maximize the job search process. Dale, a speaker, trainer, marketing consultant and LinkedIn specialist, brings more than 20 years of professional marketing and writing experience to her work. Her background includes technology, business coaching, career development, magazine writing and professional services. Dale’s knowledgeable and “real life” approach to online social networking and marketing helps professionals engaged in sales or career transitions to gain key insights and succeed based on what they already know.
