Xavier Hockey Prepares for End of the Year Tournament
Tournament will be hosted by Denison University
Xavier Ice Hockey will participate in their first end of the year tournament in two weeks (Feb 17-19). The tournament is hosted by Denison University in Granville, OH about 1.5 hours north of Cincinnati. Other teams playing include: NKU, Wittenberg, Denison, Louisville, and Wheeling Jesuit. Xavier's first game will be Friday night at 7:45 vs new opponent Wittenberg. The Musketeers don't play again until Staurday night at 9:15 against their neighbors to the south, The Norse of Northern Kentucky. Xavier is 2-0 vs. NKU this season with two wins early in the season. The semi-finals are Sunday morning at 10:15 and 12:30 with the championship game being played on Sunday evening at 5 pm. All games will be played at The Lou Gib-Reese Ice Arena in Newark, OH. Xavier has already set a goal to bring home some hardware and finish the season on a strong note. The Musketeers will use the next two weeks of practice to prepare for the long weekend and help reach the goal set by the players and coaches just before leaving for Christmas Break.
