The Xavier Equestrian team had its first win at their home show in Hamilton, Ohio on October 23rd!  XUET rode extraordinarily well, fulfilling great hopes of the young team.  On Saturday they placed second, only to the all-elusive University of Kentucky team who has had a firm grip on Zone 6, Region 3 for years now.  Sunday the young Xavier Equestrian team broke their grasp and beat the team 37-33!  Impressive freshman standout hailing from Pennsylvania, Lauren Heft, placed first in her jumping AND equitation on the flat both Saturday and Sunday, and placed reserve champion rider, not only one, but both days of the weekend, congratulations Lauren!  Other blue's went to Freshman Katie Clouser, Sophomore Stevie Manhart, and Junior Brianna LeCompte!  Xavier Equestrian hopes to beat out Kentucky Equestrian along with 7 other teams including Cincinnati, Morehead State, Midway College, Northern Kentucky, Louisville, and Marshall University to be the high point team in Region 3, and to reserve a place at zones in the post season, with hopes of a national appearance.  The team will be competing at Morehead on November 6th, and 7th.  Good luck XUET!
