Xavier Announces Three Promotions
Beth Amyot, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Xavier University announces the promotions of Bob Sheeran of Loveland (45140) to vice president for Facilities and of Rob Munson of Taylor Mill (41015) to assistant vice president for Planning and Budgeting. John Kucia, administrative vice president of Xavier University, announces Shari Mickey-Boggs of Lebanon (45036), associate vice president for Human Resources, will assume responsibilities of senior associate vice president for Human Resources. All were effective July 1, 2012.
Sheeran has been at Xavier as associate vice president for Facilities Management for the last 10 years. Prior to that, he owned Sheeran Construction, LLC and was executive vice president for Universal Contracting Corp. Sheeran earned his MBA at Xavier University. He holds a BS in Construction Management and a BS in Architectural Engineering Technology, both from the University of Cincinnati.
Xavier’s Office of Physical Plant is responsible for the leadership in the planning and design of all new construction, major remodeling, maintenance and improvement on the 2.2 million square foot, 190-acre campus. Sheeran stewards the university’s physical plant resources and works with senior management to prioritize facilities investments to support Xavier’s academic priorities. He provides strategy input in facilities planning and decisions, and he guides the development, update and approval of the campus master plan and major construction activities.
In the past four years Sheeran was accountable for $140MM in new construction for Fenwick Place, Smith Hall, the Conaton Learning Commons, and the Central Utility Plant –all projects were delivered on time and under budget. In addition, he oversees a significant portfolio of renewal and replacement projects, Xavier’s award-winning grounds programs, regular building maintenance, housekeeping, and campus utilities.
Munson has been at Xavier as director for Financial Planning and Budgeting for the last three years. For six years prior to that, he was the director for Financial Services. Before joining Xavier University, he held the positions of controller and vice president for Finance & Administration and chief financial officer at Thomas More College. His corporate experience includes 12 years as vice president of Finance and CFO at CBS Personnel Services and five years at KPMG where he attained the position of tax manager.
Munson earned his MBA at Xavier University in 2008, and his BBA in Accounting at the University of Cincinnati in 1985. He has been a certified public accountant since 1988 and currently holds an active license in the State of Ohio.
Xavier’s Planning and Budgeting Office is responsible for coordinating budget development for the University and for working with the campus community in administering departmental budgets. The office provides instructional detail for understanding the financial systems, FOAPs, budgets, revenues, expenses and other account activity. In addition, this office provides professional analysis and administrative support to the UPRC and Advisory Committee as they coordinate or develop budgetary, strategic, and other plans.
Mickey-Boggs has been at Xavier nearly five years. She is responsible for the strategic and operational planning for all human resource functions including talent management, compensation, employee relations, benefits, and organizational development.
She was director for organization and human resources consulting at The Ohio State University. She joined Ohio State in 1995, serving in a variety of positions. Prior to Ohio State, she held similar positions with the Rehabilitation Services Commission, Episcopal Retirement Homes and Big Bear Stores.
Mickey-Boggs earned an MBA from Franklin University in Columbus and a bachelor's degree in political science from The Ohio State University. She is a board member of the Human Resources Committee of the United Way of Greater Cincinnati and was just appointed to serve as a Member-at-Large of the Executive Board of the American Council on Education’s Ohio Women’s Network (ACE OWN). She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and College & University Professional Association for Human Resources. She is the daughter of Monica Mickey and the late James Mickey of Lancaster, Ohio.
