Over the weekend, XCB faced off for the first time against newly christened conference foe, Saginaw Valley State University. The Cardinals made the long five and half hour trek to culturally festive Roselawn Park, and left with shattered spirits and reflective ride back. With those three wins, the Muskies are now off to a program best 5-0 start in the conference dating back to a doubleheader sweep the the NKU Norse back in October.
There were heroes abound over this succesful weekend, including notable freshmen Andrew "Banks" Horning, Steve Lembas, and Connor "I Hit Bombs" Richards. The team was able to perservere and score runs when it counted despite an uncharacteristic weekend from "The Boy" Pat Falvey, traditionally XUCB's best hitter.
The Muskies will travel up to Dayton to play the ever-intimidating Wright State University, and team that has posed many a problem for XCB in the past. The team looks to take a commading lead in the conference with only three weekends left and position itself in a prime position to make the playoffs for the first time in team history.
