Women's Issues in the Workplace Summit explores issues encountered by working women

The Women’s Issues in the Workplace Summit is a half-day professional development conference that explores issues unique to working women. It includes an etiquette luncheon and WKRC-TV evening news anchor Cammy Dierking as the keynote speaker addressing the power of having a positive attitude—especially in a difficult economy.

The conference takes place at the Cintas Center on campus on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. It is sponsored by a grant from the Women of Excellence Giving Circle. Topics being addressed at the conference include:

• Making the most of your mentoring relationship
• Achieving work/life balance
• Negotiating a job offer: For women, it’s more than just negotiating salary
• Being a woman for others
• Making your contacts count: The importance of networking to women in the workplace

The summit concludes with a professional etiquette luncheon presented by Mary Starvaggi of The Etiquette Advantage. This event is free for Xavier students, alumni and mentors. Please register by Wednesday, Dec. 2. More information about each session is available online.
