The Muskies put together a solid weekend of hockey despite a short roster and took two key games from the Louisville Cardinals. X was in another tight game on Friday until the third period when they pulled away for the win. Senior night was Saturday and the boys came out flying, jumping to a 3 - 0 lead. However the second period was tightly played which ended with X unable to build on their lead and the score at 4 - 1. A colorful pep talk between periods seemed to renergize the guys as they poured it on in the third sending the Seniors out with a 7 - 2 win in their final game at the Gardens.
Looking ahead the schedule becomes extremely challenging. The Muskies face the University of Toledo on the road this weekend with the Saturday game being played outdoors, under the lights!. Coach Driscoll had this to say about the games ahead, "we are about to put ourselves to the ultimate test with the Toledo games then followed up with Holy Cross. As I told the guys, we are going to get punched in the mouth these next four games. The question is, are we ready for it. You have to play teams of this caliber if you want to get better and we are looking forward to the challenge."
