White Out for the Cure!

Xavier University"s Club Football Team Hosts Cancer Research Benefit | October 13, 2009

The Xavier University Club Football team will host “White Out for a Cure” to help research efforts to cure cancer. On Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. Xavier will play S.I.U Edwards at Roger Bacon High School in Cincinnati. For more information, contact Melissa Kopriva at Melissakopriva@yahoo.com or Mike Morse at football@xavier.edu. This event is free and open to the public.

As an added benefit, special whiteout T-shirts will be sold for $10 per shirt or 2 for $15. Proceeds from sales will directly benefit the American Cancer Society. Cancer research helps the medical community understand causes, prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Various clubs and organizations have joined with XU club football in this important event. “Cancer research helps so many people suffering from such a deadly disease. We want to raise awareness and get a lot of school and Cincinnati community support. This is not only the game of football, but an event to help save lives,” says Melissa Kopriva, a Xavier alumna and event co-chair.
