The Great Debate at Xavier University

On Friday, February 10, students from Xavier University, Wilberforce University, and Miami University (OH) will debate and showcase their musical and artistic talents during The Great Debate. The Great Debate promotes cultural, intellectual, moral, philosophical and spiritual principles of leadership, debates and artistic expression. This FREE event will be at 7 pm in Xavier University’s Gallagher Center Theater and is open to the public.

The debate topic is “Race in the Obama Era: Politics, Culture or Class?” Accessible seating is available. For more information, contact Xavier’s Office of Multicultural Affairs at 513-745-3181.

The Great Debate is an intellectual and cultural forum focused on current issues from the perspectives of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. It began in 1985 in Nashville, TN. Its goal is to increase respect, understanding and justice through study, debate and practice.
