The club's choice to end the season came down to the issue of safe participation. Unfortunately, through a combination of injuries and attrition, the team had fallen to an very low number of players and continued participation would put those players at too great a risk. This decision was a tough one to make, as no one wanted to quit on the season and go out like this. We would have had 16 players for the Flint game and would have finished the remaining games with 20 or less players. We started the year low in numbers and once injuries hit, the risk of more injuries became greater and greater. It is a tough loss and very hard for many of our players, coaches, and fans but we are working now to get back on track for next year. We want to thank all of our fans for your great support but we sincerely apologize for disappointing you. We are looking forward to returning in 2011 with a strong healthy squad working to bring another MCFC championship to Xavier.
