The Student Activities Council is bringing rapper B.o.B. to the Evanston campus' Cintas Center on Saturday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m. The show is open to the public as well as students, though tickets are being sold only to students for two weeks before going on sale to the public.

Tickets may also be purchased in person at the Cintas Center Box Office.
B.o.B. is best known for his 2010 hit singles "Airplanes Part II," featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore and Eminem, "Nothin' On You," featuring Bruno Mars, and "Magic," featuring Rivers Cuomo of Weezer. His first studio album, "The Adventures of Bobby Ray," debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 100 and peaked at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200, R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Rap Albums charts. He is also a five-time 2011 Grammy Nominee.
Bobby Ray Simmons Jr. made the decision at a young to pursue a career in hip-hop. He started rapping at the age of 13 after studying albums of DMX and Eminem. He chose his stage name B.o.B as a tribute to the Outkast song "B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad)." Known primarily for "Cloud 9" and "Haterz Everywhere," B.o.B scored a record deal with Atlantic Records while still in high school. He learned to play multiple musical instruments, including piano, trumpet and French horn, and spreads his message of creativity and empowerment through music.
"I just want to show people that there are endless possibilities of what you can do," B.o.B. says. "You don't just have to be a rapper, you don't just have to be a trapper; you can be anything you want to be and whatever you do, just love it and it will show."
The Student Activities Council has a history of bringing other top entertainers to campus for students and the public. Past performers include Talib Kweli, Jack’s Mannequin, Jason Mraz and Ben Folds.
Please note B.o.B.’s show includes explicit language, and parents are advised. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. For more information, please contact Dustin Lewis, assistant director of student involvement, at LewisD6@xavier.edu.
