Rabbi Abie Ingber is the featured preacher for Darfur Sunday at Christ Church Cathedral downtown

The founder of the Interfaith office at Xavier is sharing his experiences with refugees in Darfur

The Rabbi Abie Ingber, founder of Xavier’s Office of Interfaith Community Engagement and member of the theology faculty, is preaching at two services on Sunday, Sept. 13, at Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Cincinnati.

The church, at 318 4th St., is hosting Darfur Sunday. Imam Ilyas Nashid of the Cincinnati Islamic Community Center is reading from the Quran, and other Scriptures will be read in Hebrew and Sudanese. Rabbi Ingber is the featured preacher at both the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. services.

In addition, a Conversation with the Rabbi is being held at 9:00 a.m. where Rabbi Ingber is speaking about and sharing photos of his recent visit to Darfur. The event is free and open to the public.

Photo Exhibit opening in September 2009
Children of Hope: Through Their Own Eyes, is an exhibit of photographs taken by Darfur refugees during Rabbi Ingber’s visit to the region. It is being held in the Windows of the World Gallery on the third floor of the Gallagher Student Center at Xavier University.

Sept. 30, 7:30 p.m.
The Children of Hope presentation takes place in Kelley Auditorium in Alter Hall at Xavier University.

Nov. 8, 10:00 a.m.
