Note from GPHSA Alumni Association President
As you may know, it’s been a great year at Xavier, specifically for the Graduate Program in Health Services Administration which was ranked No. 1 nationally according to Modern Healthcare magazine for the second time in two years. As you may know, Dr. Ida Critelli Schick announced in May that she will retire as chair at the end of May 2011. A search is now underway to fill the position. If you have any recommendations, please contact Dr. Eddie Hooker at email@example.com.
In addition, our alumni association and the University’s alumni association are merging, and there are many benefits to this alliance. A recent series of meetings concluded that a closer alignment with the Xavier University alumni association would benefit the alumni association of the Graduate Program in Health Services Administration. The University has many programs and tools that the association can share and leverage to improve communication and offer benefits to the GPHSA alumni. This collaboration does not affect our 501 c (3) status.
As part of this change, the president of the GPHSA Alumni Association will become an at-large member of the University’s Alumni Association Board. This seat will give the GPHSA Alumni Association a stronger presence nationally. In addition, the annual alumni dues will be replaced with a defined annual giving program directed to the Health Services Administration department. Additional details will be announced as they are developed.
Lastly, the executive board would like to shift towards more electronic communications. Please send your e-mail address and other updated personal information through the website at www.xavier.edu/mhsa/alumni/professional-update.cfm. We look forward to hearing from you!
These changes can also be found on our alumni association website at www.xavier.edu/mhsa/alumni. Please send any feedback to Chad Wiggins, president of the GPHSA Alumni Association, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
