Joe Rippe, Xavier alum and longtime Board of Trustees member, dies after battling a brain tumor
Joseph Rippe Sr., who earned both his undergraduate business degree and MBA from Xavier, and was a longtime member of the University's Board of Trustees, died on Wednesday, July 30, at the age of 65. He was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor, and died of complications resulting from that battle.
Rippe was co-founder of the Cincinnati accounting firm Rippe and Kingston. The company made the announcement of his death.
"My father was a giver," Joe’s son and business partner Brent Rippe said in the announcement. “If you needed him, no matter if you were a client, employee, friend, charity or just someone looking for help, he would bend over backwards to extend his knowledge and resources to work to achieve your goals. That was what made him a great business man. Together my family, the company and everyone he touched celebrate the amazing person he was.”
Xavier magazine profiled Rippe and his Xavier involvement in its Summer 2013 issue.
Details of his funeral services have not been finalized, but will be included here as they become known.
