Robin Wright is speaking at Xavier on Monday, Nov. 7, at the Cintas Center | November 3, 2011

Xavier's Edward B. Brueggeman Center for Dialogue presents journalist Robin Wright speaking about the Arab Spring series of Islamic uprisings and its impact on America. The stakes are high, but questions of how the United States should be involved remain unanswered.

Wright's topic is the title of her recently released book, Rock the Casbah: Rage and Rebellion Across the Islamic World, which is praised for its insightful analysis of the turmoil in North Africa and the Middle East. Wright is an award-winning journalist who has observed the Middle East throughout her long career, covering a dozen wars and several revolutions. She has reported from more than 140 countries on six continents for the Washington Post and other newspapers, magazines and television.

Her talk on Monday, Nov. 7, begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Duff Banquet Center in the Cintas Center. It is free and open to the public. “Rock the Casbah” is also sponsored by the American Jewish Committee and the Foreign Policy Leadership Council.
