Going Global - 43 WCB Students on Business Immersion Trips during Spring Break Week
The Williams College of Business (WCB) is sending 43 students (32 MBA and 11 Undergraduate) for the Global Business Study & Immersion program, starting March 1, to the following countries/regions:
10 MBA students to London – led by Prof. Paul Fiorelli and assisted by Dr. Tom Clark
22 MBA students to China/Hong Kong – led by Dr. Mee-Shew Cheung, assisted by Dr. Daewoo Park and Assistant Dean for Graduate Programs Jen Bush.
11 Undergraduate students to China/S. Korea – led by Dr. David Yi, assisted by Dr. Hasan Faruq and Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs Cindy Stockwell.
Two more groups of 36 MBA/EMBA students will start their program in the Summer.
The lead professors and assistant leaders, together with the MBA office staff members, especially Teresa Summe-Haas who is a MBA Advisor & International Trip Coordinator, have spent nearly one year to plan for this to happen. Students have gone through half a semester of preparation and lecture before departure. They have worked on pre-trip research to gain a good understanding and overview of the country/region. When they return, they will continue to spend another month reflecting upon the experience, and working in groups to apply their learning and produce specific business plans/analyses.
In the course of planning, we were blessed with the resources and contacts provided by some of our advisory board members, faculty, alumni, and current students. It is truly an experience that brings many different groups of WCB stakeholders together to serve our students.
For many of our students at WCB, this is their very first exposure to a totally different part of the world. The Williams College of Business is committed to providing international business experiences for its students as it will greatly enrich their professional and personal lives.
The students and trip leaders will return on March 11th.
