IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING GRADES 4-5 SPECIALIST ENDORSEMENT
As of March 11, 2009, the state of Ohio has approved coursework in the Xavier University Montessori Teacher Education Program that would lead to a specialist endorsement for grades 4-5. This endorsement may be added to a current preK-3 license.
The Montessori 9-12 summer coursework may be taken with an additional one hour transition course for middle childhood methods and pedagogy. The AMS Elementary II credential may be added to an existing AMS Elementary I credential after completing the complete summer coursework.
The Montessori 9-12 coursework would apply towards this endorsement only for students who have not previously taken these courses.
