Faculty Perform Benefit Recital

On Wednesday, September 30 at 7:30 pm at Knox Presbyterian Church 3400 Michigan Avein Hyde Park, Xavier University’s Music Department will hold a benefit concert for the Dona Buel Memorial Fund. The concert is free and open to the public, but a donation to the Fund is appreciated. Donations will be used to help fund scholarships for music students.

Dona Buel was a piano recitalist and associate professor of music at Xavier who died in March 2008. While serving as chair of the department of music, she oversaw the renovation of Edgecliff Hall into Xavier’s music center. A child prodigy, she played piano with the Cincinnati Symphony at age 12, later graduating from the UC College Conservatory of Music. She began her teaching career at Edgecliff College and then Xavier University, where she remained for 25 years.
