CELEBRATING EVERYDAY EVANSTON

Saturday, April 13, 2013

Evanston Recreation Center

This project will be an online record of photographs and recollections.

We are asking members of the Evanston community to bring their photographs and memories to celebrate their neighborhood’s history. We will scan the photographs and record recollections about the events behind the pictures. One picture and the accompanying recording will be released each day as part of an “Everyday Evanston” blog, a permanent and easily accessible archive of community history. Participants’ photos will also be taken to show the relationship between the old and the new.

This project is coordinated by Xavier University faculty members Jonathan Gibson (Art) and Christine Anderson (History). Essential expertise and support are provided by Sean Rhiney  and Xavier’s Eigel Center for Community-engaged Learning and Community-Engaged Student Fellows.
