Celebrate the Holidays with Multicultural Events

November 19, 2009

Xavier University’s Office of Multicultural Affairs will present its monthly First Friday Fellowship on December 4 from 3-5 pm in room 280 of the Gallagher Student Center. It will be a free festive celebration, complete with music, food and fellowship, followed by a white elephant gift exchange.  Each attendee should bring a wrapped item to be included in the exchange. Suitable white elephant gifts include:
  • The ugly yet useful
  • The uselessly decorative
  • The gag gift
  • The hopelessly retro
  • Something you’d like to regift

On December 9 in Xavier’s Gallagher Student Center, the community is invited to Freedom: A Celebration of Hanukkah and Kwanzaa at 7 pm. Celebrate Hanukkah and Kwanzaa with the Office of Multicultural Affairs, Interfaith Community Engagement and the Black Student Association.  This is a free opportunity to learn more about the history, customs and traditions of these cultural holidays.  There will be storytelling, food, arts & crafts, music and dancing.
