Event Details

This session will allow participants to learn what being cultural competent means as well as how they can prepare themselves to engage with the global workplace.   Mr. Reuben Shaffer, Chief Diversity Officer of the Kroger Company will assist participations with: 

• Understanding what cultural competence is and how to utilize this knowledge for success in securing employment and navigating the global workplace.
• Understanding why integrating race, ethnicity and culture –  including language, class, gender, age, power  into the workplace is an important practice
• Increasing their understanding of how to integrate the web of behaviors, and attitudes to foster effective work in cross-cultural situation

Mr. Shaffer will also share his knowledge and experiences to engage in a discourse about how the workforce can be strengthen through diverse race, ethnic and cultural perspectives.
