Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. (Pi Upsilon Chapter)
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was founded at Butler University on November 12, 1922 by seven school teachers. Sigma Gamma Rho has the distinction of being the only NPHC sorority to be founded on a predominantly white campus. What started as a support group for students of color developed into a network of women promoting sisterhood, scholarship and service today. Sigma Gamma Rho's aim is to enhance the quality of life within the community. Public deeds, leadership and education of youth are the hallmark of the organization's programs and activities. Xavier Colony has continued the legacy of "Greater Service, Greater Progress" since its establishment at Xavier University in April 2000. The Ladies of Xavier Colony are committed to providing awareness on issues that affect our community educationally, civically, and economically, while achieving academic excellence and personal development through community service. The president is Tatiana Sanders.
