Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University who wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and provide assistance to persons in need. As a public service and community oriented organization, Delta Sigma Theta is committed to effectively and passionately meeting the needs of the African American community. The Ladies of the Rho Xi Chapter at Xavier University are committed to improving the quality of life on campus and in its surrounding community, while embracing the transitions needed to meet the challenges of the world after graduation. The president is Mariah Deweaver.
