Office of Multicultural Affairs

National PanHellenic Council

In the Spring of '04, the Office of Multicultural Affairs launched the Black Greek Council. Although Xavier is a non-Greek campus, the presence of historically black Greek-letter organizations was granted in 1991. Currently the following organizations exist: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Phi Beta Sigma, Fraternity, Incorporated.

However, since that time the Black Greek Council has been changed to the National Pan Hellenic Council.  The stated purpose and mission of the organization in 1930 was “Unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of Greek letter collegiate fraternities and sororities, and to consider problems of mutual interest to its member organizations.”  Xavier University became a recognized affiliate of this organization in Spring 2011.  The president is Chynna Stubbs.
