Nursing: Direct Entry as Second Degree (MIDAS)
The Master of Science in Nursing: Direct Entry as Second Degree, the MIDAS program, is designed for mature, goal-directed persons who have a bachelor degree in a discipline other than nursing who wish to be a licensed registered nurse (RN).
The Xavier MIDAS program is unique in that the program imbeds the new clinical nurse leader (CNL) role. The clinical nurse leader is a futuristic nursing model developed by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing to prepare new nursing leaders in the health care delivery system. The MIDAS program is approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
The 20 month MIDAS program (two academic years with a summer in between) is a full-time program of study. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be eligible to sit for the National Council Licensing Exam-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN). The student will graduate with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
